Are you worried about your child or teenager’s sleep?

I can help you understand your situation and make changes to improve everybody’s sleep.

Sleep difficulties can affect the whole family.

Perhaps your child takes a long time to fall asleep, resists bedtime, or needs you with them to go to sleep.

Perhaps they lie awake worrying, wake frequently in the night, or wake very early in the morning.

Perhaps your teenager can't switch off at night, struggles to get up in the morning, or seems to be sleeping completely out of sync with the rest of the family.

Sometimes, a sleep issue suddenly becomes a problem when there is a change or event coming up, such a school residential.

Many parents feel exhausted, frustrated, and unsure what to do. They have often tried lots of different approaches, but nothing seems to make a lasting difference.

If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place. Sleep difficulties are common, and there are well-evidenced ways to help.

I am a Chartered Child and Educational Psychologist and sleep specialist, with extensive training in sleep and child development. I am trained in specialist sleep interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold-standard psychological treatment for persistent sleep difficulties.

I understand how stressful and frustrating sleep difficulties can be for the whole family. I help families understand why sleep isn’t working well, what they can do about it, and I offer support to make the changes needed to improve sleep.

How it works

We start with a consultation to assess the sleep difficulties and understand what will help. This may be all that is needed, or we may decide that some follow-up support would be helpful.

Depending on the situation, I may work just with parents, or combine work with parents and young people. When working directly with young people, it is typical to have around 6-8 sessions, but there is no set number of sessions.

If your child is neurodivergent, has additional needs, or your situation is more complex, I may suggest a different way of working. You are welcome to get in touch to discuss your situation.
